Frequently asked questions
Is the house suitable for winter?
Yes. The walls, floor and roof are insulated, and the heating built into the bedroom walls keeps it comfortable even at around -20 °C outside.
How big is the house?
On the ground, it measures about 96 × 64 cm, with the roof overhanging slightly. Inside, there are two rooms: a bedroom and a feeding area, reached through a sheltered entrance hallway.
How is the house assembled?
Like flat-pack furniture: the panels arrive ready to assemble, the roof is delivered already assembled, and the tool is included. Everything comes in a few boxes. If you need help, contact us: we will guide you.
How does the heating work?
Very thin infrared heating films are built into the walls. No flame, no noise, no smell. You set the temperature from the app.
Can other animals get in?
No. The microchip door is included on every house: only your cat's microchip opens it. No more hedgehogs or neighbourhood cats.
Can my cat get out during a power cut?
Yes. Whatever happens, your cat can always leave the house.
Does the house need electricity and Wi-Fi?
Yes. It must be plugged into a standard 220 V socket for heating and operation, and it connects to your Wi-Fi so you can follow it on your smartphone. If the signal is weak, a Wi-Fi repeater near the house is enough. Without Wi-Fi, the house keeps working on its own and reconnects automatically.
How do I clean the house?
The roof opens onto the bedroom and the feeding area, so cleaning and refilling take just a few seconds.
Can I move the house?
Yes, it stands on wheels that can be locked so it does not move in the wind. Large wheels and a handle are available as an option for lawns.
Does the camera work at night?
Yes. The camera, available as an option, has infrared lighting. You can watch live or later thanks to the SD card.
Can I leave my cat alone for several days?
No. Vets recommend not leaving a cat alone for more than 24 hours, and AnimHouse does not replace your presence. It is designed for everyday absences: a working day, an evening, a night. For longer trips, ask a pet-sitter or a neighbour to come by: the microchip door and the app make their job easier.
Is the kibble dispenser available?
Not yet. It is being developed and will be offered as an option.
